Samantha Rachel Jack.

I am a freelance international makeup and special effects artist based in Edinburgh but I work all over the world. I am fully insured, qualified and BECTU registered.

I was a finalist in the 2014 Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards for makeup specialist of the year and 2015 for bridal specialist of the year. I won Best Gore Award from New York Horror Festival in 2017 for my work on the independent feature film 'Night Kaleidoscope'.

I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2010 with a BA in Psychology, I worked within the mental health sector but decided I wanted to do something creative and so I returned to college to pursue my dream of becoming a makeup artist. My previous background as a fully qualified beauty therapist aided in my return to education and my passion for art blossomed. I enrolled in Edinburgh College and received the finest training available and graduated with a grade A distinction.

I started my makeup career working and training with numerous makeup companies over the years such as No 7., Benefit, Dior, Shu Umeura & Bobbi Brown. These jobs have helped to progress my skills by allowing me to work with hundreds of different types of skin types, ethnicities and creating bespoke looks for my customers within a very short time frame. I also achieved a high standard of cusomer service that I have upheld throughout my career aswell as recieving some of the industries best professional training and gaining advance product knowledge.

I have worked within the bridal industry for over 5 years and always pride myself in tailor making each of my brides desired looks. I am best known for my flawless natural makeups and vintage inspired brial looks. I provide these serives to the highest standard and have worked with brides who wear little to no makeup to those who like to wear a full face.

I have worked on multi-award winning films including BAFTA winning independent feature and shorts, blockbuster features such as 'Mary Queen of Scots', TV series such as 'Outlander', international music videos and world premiere interactive events such as 'World Of Z' (Edinburgh Fringe 2014). My work has been published in both UK and international fashion magazines such as 'The Scottish Wedding Directory, Vouge Itlaia, Digital Film Makers Magazineand displayed in galleries throughout the UK. I have worked with award winning photographers, designers and published models.

I have been teaching makeup for over 2 years now with a private school based in London and it is a skill that I am proud to say is going from strength to strength.

My passion and creativity knows no limits and my dedication is unquestionable. My psychology background makes me both approachable and easy going and naturally comfortable in any social setting. I have built a respectable reputation within the UK film industry and I have been told that I am a formidable force to watch out for in the future which is a statement I am extremly proud of.
